Associate Director of Development for Major Gifts and Planned Gifts

Princeton Health is currently searching for a?Full Time,?Days,?Associate Director of Development for Major and Planned Gifts?for Princeton Medical Center Foundation Office.


Position Summary:? This position has the primary objective of developing long-term philanthropic relationships with donors and prospects, with the ultimate goal of soliciting these individuals for major gifts and planned gifts to the Princeton Medical Center?Foundation Office.


Duties include the following:




  • Report to the Senior Director of Development.


  • In collaboration with Development colleagues, establish annual and long-term fundraising priorities and goals.


  • Maintain a portfolio of 100-120 prospects rated at $25,000 and higher.


  • Develop strategies to identify, cultivate, solicit, close, and steward major and planned gifts through blended asks from grateful patients and the families of patients.


  • Conduct a minimum of 7-8?face-to-face visits per month and document all donor contact in Raiser?s Edge.


  • Submit proposals on top prospects and follow the prospect management system.


  • Develop a proactive planned giving program (including infrastructure and marketing) and provide prospects/donors with comprehensive planned giving services.


  • Oversee our contract with Pentera.


  • Oversee the Planned Giving Committee.


  • Plan the 1919 Society?s Annual Events and activities.


  • Mentor fellow staff on the importance of planned giving vehicles and how to leverage planned gifts during donor visits.?


  • Maintain knowledge of IRS regulations with regard to charitable laws.?


  • Acquire a strong understanding and knowledge of our clinical services lines and establish strong and productive relationships with Department Chairs, physicians, nurses, nurse managers, and administrators.


  • Increase philanthropic awareness via physician/nursing/support staff orientations, one-on-one medical staff meetings, and maintain a presence in the clinical units at UMCPP.?


  • Work with our newly established Physicians Partners and Champions Program.?


  • Establish a strong relationship with members of the Foundation Board of Directors.


  • Maintain a working knowledge of HIPAA regulations.


  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable hospital policies and procedures.


  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Senior Director of Development or the Vice President of Development.?



Qualifications:


All Princeton Health employees are required to receive an annual influenza vaccine unless they are granted a medical or religious exemption.


Required:


- Bachelor's degree


-?A minimum of seven (7) to ten (10) combined years of experience in major gifts and planned giving preferably in a healthcare organization


- Must possess initiative, leadership, creative energy, well refined organizational skills and proven expertise as a fundraiser


- Strong personal and persuasive skills; strong negotiating skills


- Sensitivity to the needs of patients and their families


- Ability to independently plan, execute and monitor progress


- Ability to relate at all levels across the organization, including physicians, senior executives, Board members, volunteers, prospects and donors


- Superior communication skills, both written and verbal


- Ability to persuasively promote the Hospital?s mission in patient care, program development, education, and research


- Effectively communicate complex medical information to both lay and professional audiences


- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate well to individuals from diverse backgrounds


- Must maintain and exhibit the highest standards of ethical conduct


-? Ability to work as an integral part of a fundraising team by utilizing strong organizational and managerial skills in working with colleagues and support staff.


- Advanced Microsoft Office and database experience?


Preferred:


-?Advanced degree in law or CFP designation


- Raiser?s Edge experience

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
