The Position As a member of the Obesity Insights team, the primary purpose of this role will be to serve as a knowledge resource to generate and drive holistic evidence-based strategic insights and tactical guidance to multiple levels of management and cross functional teams. Develop, implement, and lead strategic custom market research to inform and shape the development and implementation of business plans. Drive superior decision-making to support the achievement of Novo Nordisk P&L goals for assigned products. Collaborate with marketing, medical, finance, global colleagues, and key cross-functional teams in developing a strategic vision via in-depth market and brand-specific analyses. Synthesize and simplify information to ensure timely decision making and develop innovative solutions to unstructured problems with minimal guidance. RELATIONSHIPS Reports to Director, Obesity Insights & Analytics. Internal relationships include interactions with key business partners including Marketing, Portfolio Marketing, Commercial Insights & Analytics, medical, global research, and commercial teams. Collaborate with market research, and analytics team members to manage multiple projects, to achieve specific research goals as assigned. External relationships include interactions with outside consultants and research partners ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS MARKET RESEARCH COORDINATION ANALYSES AND DESIGN:
Execute and analyze custom qualitative and quantitative marketing research projects and business assessment with pragmatic actionable recommendations in development/support of brand/portfolio strategy and tactics and in alignment with business planning process Lead in the framing of business questions, identification of information needs and development of research and data analysis plans. Manage the research process to deliver objective, in-depth understanding of issues and propose value-added solutions to stakeholders from concept through to final results and application via strategic proposals, presentations, training, etc. Guided decision maker on what sources of data would likely be accurate and applicable for integration of market research results Consult with obesity team and collaborators on proper focus and prioritization of marketing research resources against business needs Manage qualitative and quantitative marketing research projects, associated budgets, timelines, and relations with outside consultants. Establish optimal partnerships with market research colleagues and cross functional analytic groups within department and across organization COLLABORATION & COMMUNICATION:
Ensure alignment of initiatives to company's overall vision aligned to the business strategic focus areas and departments goals. Conducts hypothesis-driven investigations into detailed physician-level, patient-level and transactional-level data, to gain business insights from various customer perspectives (HCPs, patients, payers) independently or with collaboration with other analytics teams. Develops innovative solutions to unstructured, complex problems; recommendations have significant impact on company (time, people, budget) resources and may affect ability to achieve company goals. Interprets and contextualizes analytical findings within the framework of existing body of research and market trends Ad hoc analyses to address issues in support of business objectives and incorporate needs and opportunity assessments LEADERSHIP AND DEVELOPMENT:
Champion the Triple Bottom Line in market research, business analytics and internal strategy consulting Demonstrate creative simple approaches toward solving complex problems. May coach or train junior level staff on MR approaches, techniques, synthesized storytelling presentation development, business issue identification and methods for addressing, etc. Proactively seek process improvement opportunities by challenging existing processes, proposing solutions, and driving approved implementation plan Strive to develop and deploy innovative market research techniques and maintain awareness of 'best practices ' across industries by maintaining a current familiarity with data sources, MR techniques and MR agencies. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 10-20% overnight travel required. You will be required to upload an image of your COVID-19 vaccine card at the time of hire and/or on your first day of employment QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree preferred Strong market research experience preferred (e.g., pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods, OTC, or marketing research related experience). 4
years of pharmaceutical, consumer packaged goods, marketing, and/or sales analysis experience to be considered. 3
years primary market research and/or analytics and/or strategic consulting experience preferred Ability to work across functions, partnering with the business partners within Novo Nordisk Analytical and strategic thinking skills required - able to see big picture from scattered pieces of information and present complex and disparate data in a clear and concise manner; must have an ability to see beyond the confines of MR data to broader business issues. Excellent verbal, writing, presentation, project management and effective influencing skills required Demonstrated history of driving impact through effective relationship building partnerships Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects with conflicting deadlines, and provide recommendations that will assist in the development of business strategies Strong understanding of both primary and secondary research sources (i.e., IMS Audits) Work independently - Gather input about needs from business partners and set own direction accordingly
Salary Range:
$100K -- $150K
Minimum Qualification
